In non-profit organizations the REAL WORK happens at the committee level. Committees meet informally, on a per needed basis, to deal with very specific problems. It is the best way to understand the inner workings of a non-profit organization and make real change happen. The President appoints a committee chair to preside over these informal meetings. Committee chairs are frequently asked to give oral or written reports and attend Executive Board meetings. If you have an issue or topic you feel passionate about, join a committee by sending an email to the chair. Remember that only YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!
