HOW MUCH ARE INTERPRETERS PAID WITH THE NEW SCHEDULING SYSTEM?
Updated On: Mar 03, 2024

Barring a collective bargaining agreement (union contract), L&I can raise or lower interpreters’ rates at any time. RCW 51.04.030(1) states that L&I shall establish a fee schedule of maximum charges. WAC 296-20-010(2) reaffirms that the fees listed in the fee schedule are maximum fees.

Regardless of whether interpreting jobs are distributed through the new scheduling system or not, interpreters will receive the same compensation in accordance with L&I's payment policy found in MARFS Chapter 14 Language Access Services, Payment Policies for Healthcare Services Provided to Injured Workers and Crime Victims.
