For the 2023-25 collective bargaining agreement, our DSHS-DCYF-HCA Medicaid bargaining team reached an impasse and therefore proceeded to interest arbitration. Read here the arbitrator's decision and a subsequent clarification. These jobs are currently scheduled through web portals from two different language companies: Universal Language Services and FourCorners that uses Boostlingo.
For the 2023-25 collective bargaining agreement, our L&I bargaining team reached an interim agreement effective September 30, 2024 until June 30, 2025. These jobs are currently scheduled through a web portal called Wordbridge owned by the language company SOSi.
The 2025-27 collective bargaining agreement combines the two bargaining units --DSHS-DCYF-HCA Medicaid and L&I-- into a single contract. It was negotiated by the two elected bargaining teams. The bargaining team did not reach an agreement with the state regarding Article 6, Compensation. The team wanted L&I to pay hourly minimums instead of per minute and to reimburse interpreters for late cancelations and LEP/Provider no shows. Article 6 was therefore sent to interest arbitration and you can read the PERC arbitrator's decision. The Tentative Agreement which includes the decisions made by the arbitrator is posted on the OFM website pending funding by the legislature during the 2025 session.
