- Spring of even years: Beginning of negotiations with the State.
- July: Tentative Agreement reached.
- August: Interest Arbitration is scheduled.
- September: Ratification by the membership of the tentative agreement through a YES/NO vote.
- October: Ratified contract is submitted to the State’s Legislature.
- Winter of odd years: Legislature approves or rejects our contract.
- July: The new contract goes into effect.
