Did you know that some foreign language agencies have their phone number listed on the ‘L&I interpreter look up service’ more than 200 times by interpreter names? Some foreign language agencies contract with interpreters just to get their agency phone number posted on the L&I Look Up Service more times. Ever wonder why you have NEVER been called? Did you know that every time a foreign language agency makes an appointment for you, they receive $47.40 per hour? How much of this do you receive in your paycheck? Some Foreign Language Agencies are fair and give interpreters more of the pay. Many more language agencies take over $20 per hour or more from interpreter pay. This must be stopped.
